Powell Says Fed Independence Is a Matter of Law

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell says the central bank will never be influenced by any political pressure. “Our independence is a matter of law,” Powell said when asked about political threats to his position. He speaks at the Economic Club of Chicago.
