I’d like to see a video discussing why the APA’s code of ethics can interfere with specific research. More specifically, how the code of ethics can contradict previous experiments (after the first code of ethics in 1953) and restrict future experiments that provided success for a lot of people.

(it seems like psychology is more focused on sociology than the actual psyche of an individual person nowadays. not only does this complicate my learning as an aspiring psychologist, but it restricts me in what i know can help my individual patient.)

Just asking, but if ethics are just deemed behaviors acceptable by society, wouldn't they be just as subjective as morals? I'm asking this since different societies have different norms and what they consider "acceptable".

Talk about The Business Ethics of Psychology.

Psychology needs Business Ethics.

Here’s some needed bylaws

1. Doctor/Patient relationship reviews. NOT supervision. Patient MUST BE INCLUDED.

2. Doctor-Patient Relationship term limits.

3. In domestic situations. Parent/child or spouse. THESE 3rd parties— MUST BE PART OF THERAPISTS information gathering.

Meaning first hand sessions of these talked about 3rd parties.

4. All therapists must be subject to Audits. They must disclose their personal history in writing for client review which is updated every year.

They must take stances on human behavior such as criminality, child rearing, drugs, friendship, sex, race, gender, and current relevant political leanings.

5. Therapists must prove that their client has understanding of

Everyone makes decisions with what they know and feel at the time of the action of decision.

6. Psychologists must be in legal risk regarding their clients behavior.

Psychology and mental health has made a firm grip of culture.

It is fundamentally a BUSINESS ETHICS NIGHTMARE due to it’s nature.

Psychologists ARE BUSINESS PEOPLE. They make money off of problems.

Hi, could i just ask, If a researcher is concerned about whether an experimental group will be susceptible to more risks when participating in a study than a control group, which ethical principle is the researcher concerned with?

Is it the principle of beneficence or that of Justice?

So if two psychologist lies to me persistently to obtain an MRT scan, would that be an ethics violation?

Because I hate it and it was fishy before when they went with platitide phraseing like everyone has that done, then with having somone else talk to me (I tried to make it seem like I somewhat agreed to gauge reaction) who was very onbord and enthusiastic in body language when I was agreeable (but still saying that it wasn't important and it could help them further (strange to say when you try so hard to make me make one)), but then yesterday one psychologist appeard to have a slip of tounge and said there were illnesses they wanted to check for (who would've thoght, now if you haden't lied to me for weeks trying to get me to have one while saying you can see absuluty nothing)
