‘You had a future! So should we!’ — 2019 was the year young people around the world stood up and demanded real climate action. These were the key moments for the youth climate movement.

In US news and current events today, NowThis News is looking back on the biggest moments of the year in climate activism and the fight against climate change. This is how young climate crisis activists changed the world. One of the biggest moments of the year was when teen climate activist and Fridays for Future founder Greta Thunberg spoke at the United Nations. This became known as the Greta Thunberg How Dare You speech and launched many Greta Thunberg How Dare You memes and GIFs. Thunberg launched one of the biggest climate strikes, the global school strike 4 climate. In the fight against global warming one of the biggest global issues today also referred to as the climate crisis, no action was too small. These activists are leading the fight against the climate crisis 2020.

We as young people will rise until the final ...

Only thing I'm worried about are the worldwide media. in my country we all know about the climate crisis, but it's become a taboo to talk about it in the media. In the country of my boyfriend it's even worse: there the people don't even know how bad the situation is, and that there even is such a thing as global warming. If there is one thing that scares me more than the effects of climate change itself it is that: The fact that we hear nearly nothing about it in mainstream media.

I am because I changed to a 4/10 schedule. So I work 4 days a week 10 hour days. That's one day a week that i don't have to go to work and its a little over 55 miles round trip that I don't drive my car. I don't understand why more businesses don't move to this model. I drive less, still put in 40 hours and I'm happier because I get 3 days off instead of 2. I am already at work so what is another 2 hours to get a day off.

They need to focus more on cleaning up the greenhouse gases that are already in the air, moreso than cutting back on pollution. It will take several decades, assuming everyone's onboard, to stop pollution entirely, but it can take a fraction of the time developing new technologies that get rid of emissions. I forget what video I saw, but I saw a video describing a power plant in the Netherlands that does the work of 40 million trees, and they already have the technology and money to implement it. However, politics prevent them from doing so. There's also Plant-E that can produce electricity from extracting the waste from bacteria absorbing the waste of plants. This has no negative effects on the plants or the soil, and the technology already exists. We should focus on that, as well as other green technology and cleaning up emissions (like the team cleaning hundreds of thousands of tonnes of plastics in the oceans), instead of focusing primarily on getting people to stop pollution. Because we all know they won't stop, even if everyone in the whole world tries to get them to stop.

I feel like the reason we don't change is because it's very difficult economically. Millions of jobs will be lost in non-renewable sourced jobs and companies will lose billions which will cause chaos. It takes time to change slowly but surely it will happen.

Agenda 21 is grouped into 4 sections:
Section III: Strengthening the Role of Major Groups includes the roles of children and youth, women, NGOs, local authorities, business and industry, and workers; and strengthening the role of indigenous peoples, their communities, and farmers.

The trash cleanup stuff is kinda dumb. You bag up a bunch of trash that’s in one area and what - move it to a different location? Trash outside a trash dump isn’t necessarily any worse than trash in a trash dump.

Nothing better than the force and ignorance of young people

This “movement” is also having the complete opposite effect on a large portion of society. Adults. Real adults see this and roll the eyes not because they don’t care but because it’s coming out of kids mouths. No one wants to hear gibberish from young humans who haven’t even moved out of their moms house and contribute to society. Sorry but most older folks don’t respect the opinions of babies. Respect is not given it’s earned. Don’t hate the messenger for explaining that life isn’t a Disney movie. Adult issues are adult issues. Sorry we can’t free Willy so easily.

"The current magma energy project is assessing the engineering feasibility of extracting thermal energy directly from crustal magma bodies. The estimated size of the U.S. resource (50, 000 to 500, 000 quads) suggests a considerable potential impact on future power generation. In a previous seven-year study, we concluded that there are no insurmountable barriers that would invalidate the magma energy concept."

from such did blinking stars ascend
out of their reality of shadows
made delicate in Saturn's creation
yet magnified by the power of the sun
whose beacons focused winding paths

unto which still brighter births appeared
enshrined in purpose
as light years lay their baby breath
thus reincarnates
re-emerges
