Only if you lived during this time can you understand the magic that we all were part of then. It was a blast.

This 1998 movie really brought back the memories. The 80's and 90's in the USA were really good years. Now the government has taken everything over. An excellent club like Studio 54 would be under so many regulations and restrictions these days that it wouldn't make it far. Back then though...it was king! The ending scene of this movie gave me chills. Mike Myers looked and sounded so much like Steve R. that is was scary. The song by Stars on 54 playing during the end of the movie gave me goose bumps! What a great time it was! My wife and I have so many of these old songs on vinyl records still (as well as CD and mp3 now). The scene where Steve R. has his last party at 54 is excellent! Just a fantastic closing scene. Then the snapshot black and white pictures from the club during the closing credits were just awesome! My wife and I just sat there pointing people out in the pictures as they appeared.

I was born in 1980 so I missed the entire disco era. I had the privilege of living in a pretty good era of music during the 80's. Life was a lot simpler then. My parents taught me a lot about disco. Looking back on how things were in the 70's I only wish I could have been around for that decade. I would have been a disco clubs til dawn maybe not strung out on cocaine but just living the good life. I saw this movie when I was a freshman in college. It really made me appreciate the 70's even more. The kids today will never understand what life was like and good music. Unfortunately everything would be canceled by the woke mob today

I prefer this version to the director's cut

The directors cut is a different movie and it’s far superior to the theatrical version.

das ist so dramatisch wenn ich daran denke, dass es so oder ähnlich wirklich war . man weiß allles ist zuende und man versucht einen moment zu genießen indem man so tut als wäre alles noch wie früher, doch man weiß es ist vorbei.

A music style, so fun that some people lost there minds to it- that's what killed it.

The crowd looks too much like a suburban disco dance at the local firehouse. No movie has ever really reproduced the incredible feel of the 70s disco phenomenon - maybe it can’t be done (and it wasn’t Saturday Night Fever - that was watered down Hollywood commercial disco just to make money, which of course it did)

Unpopular opinion: the Director’s Cut had the better ending.
