Razbliuto is Amazing, but it's no Great Pretender

We finally got more Great Pretender material in the form of a movie titled Razbliuto and it's amazing and I love it, but how does it stack up to the bar set by the original series? And how does its relationship to Great Pretender, actually wind up hurting the film as a standalone project?

I kinda don’t mind that they focused more on Dorothy for this sequel but at least let me see more content from the previous characters….😭😭 it’s one of the reasons why I love the series

No because, I really want to belive that all of this was a pay off to the soon to come third season, remember just as how he got Makoto involved because of Oz’s mess up and years later after planning and recruiting difficulties con’s people, Leraunt probably alongside his team had heard of some leads to Dorothy’s werebouts and took their sweet time to plan everything out and figure out a way to bring her back to him.
So what if all of this was meant to be a sort off Cinematic parallel to how Makoto got to meet Leraunt when they first meant, it was all planned out from the start by him, now the same is coming full circle again by gaining Dorothy back to him. Just think about it maybe this is why this movie is here for. All so it can work as a introduction to how the Third season could play out.

This was solid as its own thing but it could really use more oomph as a Great Pretender title. Kinda wish there was more Laurent stuff too

Great video, you absolutely nailed it. I loved the movie, but it's telling that throughout the entire movie, I'm constantly in the 'Great Pretender' mindset, constantly trying to figure out what the ploy is and how Laurent is pulling the strings.
"Razbluito is a great movie, but it's not a Great Pretender" articulates the issue perfectly 👍

I think part of it is that it *isn't* a standalone product. It being divided the same way that the series was with the 1-1 and those being referred to as Intermissions really seem to hint to a follow up of some kind, and that would explain the amount of loose ends the movie had.

I was pretty confused by the whole plotline about the deal in Razbliuto, so when it was revealed in the end that it was a scam done by the main series main cast I was just surprised and thought "wait, so this was a Great Pretender plotline but from the pov of the scammed person?."
I can imagine the disappointment being greater for someone who picked up on all the hints.
