Plus, exclusive clips of ‘The Read with Kid Fury and Crissle,' ‘T-Pain’s School Of Business,’ ‘Big Boy’s Neighborhood,’ and ‘Sugar And Toys.’
That was Taylor Swift, celebrating the release of her new album "Red" yesterday at a Target listening party.
Now you may be asking yourself: Why Target? Well, it's because they're putting out an exclusive deluxe edition of the album that has not 1, not 2, but 6 additional songs. Here's Taylor with more details.
If you notice a slightly different sound from Taylor on "Red," that's because she wrote with other people like Dan Wilson, Max Martin, and Shellback, and collaborated with Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody. Taylor explained why she wanted to call in reinforcements on this record.
I'm definitely picking up on a more electronic vibe on songs like "I Knew You Were Trouble." Which makes sense, since it was co-written and produced by the same guys who did Britney Spears' "If U Seek Amy" and Christina Aguilera's "Your Body."
Honestly I think you're blowing this out of proportion. Sure, it's a little different, but it's still the tried and true Taylor Swift formula. And I'm not knockin' her for it-- I wouldn't want to alienate my ginormous, rabid fanbase either.
We need an outside opinion--can you guys hear a different sound, or is it just the same old Taylor?
Within 12 hours of its release, "Red" shot to the #1 position on iTunes, and this morning five of the top ten singles on iTunes were from the album. Industry experts are saying the album could sell more than a million copies in its first week... just like her previous album, "Speak Now." See? Even her sales figures are the same.
But the music is different!
