Fun Fact: They tested the roar on a Warner Bros. Studio Stage. They hooked up a massive set of amps and speakers that The Rolling Stones used and tested the roar on full volume. Reportedly, you could hear the roar 3.5 Miles away from the studio.

I liked it when the kids were on the bus playing around acting noisy and everything until they heard the roar and everyone just stopped.

You guys did a good job of making this sound awesomely terrifying. There was one point in the movie where he roared by the Golden Gate bridge and I literally leaped back in my seat in an instinctive reflex to get away from the sound-- and in a good way! There are so many awesome overtones and undertones in the roar now and you just know EXACTLY what and who it is. And I loved that it was LOUD! :)

Hearing this roar in the theaters sent CHILLS down my spine!
From hearing the original and new roar, they both sound great! You have to remember that the technology difference is about 60 years! We are living in a time of technology, guys!! Of course there are going to be changes! And for those who have lived with the older Godzilla movies, they are going to either love the new, or hate it.
They new roar to me sounds like a somewhat longer roar of what is similar to the original. I love how they made his roar gradually get higher and more intense! This shook the walls of the entire theater! Being born from the late 1990s, The concept of Godzilla seemed really corny and silly to me, based from the bad special effects I saw from the original movies. Don't get me wrong, these special effects were probably at the top of their game during the old days! So when my dad whined to me on making me go and watch this movie ...I literally fell in LOVE with the plot and the creature itself ! I felt bad on how it was misunderstood and I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw his amazing BLUE FLAMETHROWER BREATH! I literally looked to my dad and yelled"... WAIT ... HE CAN ACTUALLY DO THAT?!" Godzilla is now, after seeing the 2014 remake, my number 1 favorite monster of all time!
