I think freelancing is great but so hard to get into depending on the field. But once you get your foot in the door it's pretty much smooth sailing until you have to discuss price with some clients

I worked for DoorDash right when I turned 18 during senior year of high school. The colder months (which is when I started) are better. From january - march, I made on average 30/hr after deducting gas. I worked 8-10 hours a week.

There seems to be a cross-over between ease and passive. I would say ease = barriers to entry, not how easy something is. Barriers to entry prevent - most - people from just going out buying another house but setting up a small business usually just takes a bit of time and marketing etc. although, renting out property is more passive while running a small business is time intensive.

I have been on the internet for a long time building websites and what I find is that it gets harder and harder to compete. When I started I could easily make money via clicks on Google Adsense Ads with page one ranking web pages. Now there is immense competition for the passive income. Getting clients to pay you a monthly fee for maintenance of a website is a good one (even when there is no actual maintenance required).

Great video. Especially the pros and cons without all the 'guru change your life over night BS'.
As a consultant myself I think that the hardest by far is the pitching part. Yes you can get a couple of k a day but the more specialized you get the fewer clients there are and the more goes into networking. Now I wonder how can you bring something very specialized into a course that is valuable while has enough market 🤔

Hi Shane, thank you for another great video. I have a video request. Can you make a video where you explain different programs available for people who already have a bachelors degree in biology? For example PA, nursing, etc. I currently have a bachelors degree in biology and am unsure which path to take moving forward. The plan was to apply to medical school but after becoming a mom during the pandemic, I am looking for a shorter program that can get me into a career faster. Thank you 🙏🏻

SaaS is definitely not passive, even after you've built a successful product. If you're making big money, either your whole life is consumed by the project or you have a whole team maintaining it. At the VERY least, you need to be on your toes about security updates. More than likely, to be profitable long-term, you're also gonna need to be delivering feature updates. Then you'll need marketing and sales.

Also, anyone getting into software in 2023 just be aware that the market has changed. You're not gonna make big money on nifty ideas anymore. Investors aren't buying into "software for the sake of software" anymore. You need a product that delivers concrete value to an audience that has a legitimate need.
