cheers for that! mine got to 120 the other day and spat bubbling coolant out of the overflow at the traffic lights. half way through stripping the bike but might be the ecu then :(

I don't think they knew what they were talking about? The temp sensor would be the likely bet as it just acts like a switch. surely they could have just put a permanent live to a different type of temp switch so it runs automatically. I would take it to an auto electrician. But glad you got a work around.

Mate, I have an 03 R6 that all of sudden the fan came on hours after riding and flattened the battery whilst it was sitting with the key out, I put any money on it, its your relay in the left hand side fairing under the fuse box (theres a small relay) it's probably packed in! I only established this by removing it today and dropping it by mistake onto the ground ( i think it free'd up the little mechanism inside) and now it comes on and off when it's mean't to!!!) I can't believe your garage OR Yamaha couldn't answer that for you!
