With AI everywhere you look, you may think you've seen it all. Magician David Kwong suggests otherwise, proposing advancements in technology actually increase opportunities for wonder. I listened to the entire talk and found it very entertaining and loved the magic trick… its playfulness made AI seem inoffensive and useful. I also enjoyed David’s demeanor throughout the talk and found him quite entrancing.

Was really hoping for an explanation of the magic trick. Still waiting to be convinced that he was a random volunteer

Yep. As AI evolves, so do the ethical considerations. It's our duty to shape its development with integrity and foresight.

I wonder why the comment session is kinda salty, whereas I found it to be a rather beautiful performance/Talk. Well, I'll just say people are different...

The term "wonder" originates from Old English "wundor, " which means a marvelous thing, a marvel or a miracle. This Old English word itself is derived from Proto-Germanic *wundran, which also meant wonder or marvel. Over time, the meaning of the word has broadened to include a sense of amazement, awe, or curiosity about something remarkable or surprising. The term has roots in other Germanic languages as well, such as Old High German "wuntar" and Old Norse "undr."

In a broader linguistic sense, the concept of wonder has been associated with feelings of admiration and astonishment across many cultures and languages.

This content seems fascinating. This channel always brings something meaningful. I also started a channel with my husband to educate, love doing it.

Chat GPT is NOT reading minds. It's making deductions based on what you've fed it. We do not know what David Kwong has fed it beforehand, and the other thing is that François is likely a plant (the weird name joke, and the fact that François did not really react to it, suggests they are familiar with each other). The information he fed it during this session is not enough for ChatGPT to deduce that François is going to pick blue, lion or apple. He's also EXTREMELY specific when it comes to generating those names to spell out Denmark. This implies that this whole thing is a script, one ChatGPT has been specifically trained to spew out when given the right words.

Couldn't agree more. It's one big reason I love technology, it keeps the dream alive because there is never an end to it.

Remember when ted talks weren't dollar store magicians trying to get exposure?

It seems like he paid one of the audience members before the show even happened. If he knew the unseen, he should know the Lottery numbers.

Wonder is truely the best thoughts to have, this curiosity, wonder and excitement to create something they are passionate about. Or just to go riding your bike with friends after school, so excited as everyday was a new journey of wonder and what you may find.
AI is like this as so much wonder and excitement will be amplified for all the answers to our life on earth to how to make anything for the people, new science, new infrastructure, better this, better that. A technological age we have never seen before except concepts of Atlantis and even further back races on earth……..
As scary and suddenly confronting AI is right now, I feel it will lead us to greater freedoms and quality of life. Until it gets
especially in art, science, writing, holding onto dreams, imaginary exoectations and uplifting adrenalin

The magic trick I'd like to see the most is making AI disappear.

"We and we alone have the capacity to look with fresh eyes, to ask the bigger question."
Sorry but you couldn't be more wrong. Other animals have that capacity too, and AI is going to join the club soon.

Making a sarcastic joke about the person’s name, who volunteered to help with your performance, is seriously suboptimal 😅

like anything and everything, AI can be an absolute blessing in humanity’s hands, or, it can utterly destroy most… “magic” can be wonderful or sinister.. all the goodness and all the possible treachery, lies within the controlling powers that be, hearts’…… so basically, based on the past, there is plenty for very many, to be very concerned about😬😬🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️😏😏… personally, i think this tech is pretty darn cool.. that’s just my opinion
