Happy Beltane! So happy you addressed the idea of letting our gardens/lawn do their natural thing. Here in Michigan, U.S.A., I live in a lovely wooded area where lush green, weed-free lawns are highly prized. A few years back, a neighbor began transitioning her lawn to a more natural, self sustaining landscape. The neighborhood thought it was crazy and everyone talked about it. Several years on, the pine trees she planted have grown and the ground covering has spread and filled in and it looks so natural and beautiful! This inspired a few more neighbors to begin transitioning their lawns as well, and they are having equally wonderful results. This inspired me to try the same. It is more difficult because I have over an acre of grassy front, but I am going to start with my flower beds and go from there. The neighbors shared that it is a process and can look not-so-lovely at first—just be patient and lend a helping hand to cultivate and guide without really interfering. I love how one person can start a whole new way of thinking and doing. That is what you are to me, Bex. Your videos inspire and motivate me to step outside my usual way of thinking and try something new. I think that is definitely in the spirit of this celebration, and embodies the significance of Beltane❤

Your videos are a welcome oasis in this capitalist hellscape. Even when I can't do much due to my disabilities, your videos make me feel connected to these special days. Thank you for all you do! Danke schön!

What I find fascinating: I grew up Catholic, but have always been drawn towards Pagan Culture and Religion my entire life and it's just not going away. Guess I will have to embrace it instead of shoving it away. I wanna celebrate Beltane in the Harz Region just once in my life, because it looks really cool.

Blessed Beltane from Seattle USA! This video reminds me of how I used to make necklaces out of clover blossoms when I was a little kid back in Maryland. Recently, I've been collecting sprigs of cedar in my neighborhood to dry in a hanging basket, and burn later (part of my research in how Europeans purify their space with things other than white sage). I also still have memories of how I constantly played with bugs and caterpillars as a child, when I wasn't climbing trees around my house. Anyway, happy May Day to you and your family from Seattle! :)

I am still working on re-working the wheel of the year for myself (as a Sceptic Atheist witch) and I was pondering on what I'm going to do on May first. Did some scrolling on the internet and thought, hmm, maybe The Witches Cookery has a nice video for some inspo. And lo and behold, you posted one 7 minutes ago! So that is going in the To Watch list for tonight!

I'm from Belgium so it's so nice to have someone with a germanic (vs angelsaksen or us) background, AND with a focus on folk and herbal practices. And on top of that ALSO very SASS (Sceptic, Atheist Agnostic Science Seeking) friendly.
Much love!

Beltane is moving day for me. After 10 years of apartment/house hopping I finally have a stable home of my own! Fallen blossoms remind me of every possible dream someone could have in the world. One of mine coming true! I didnt know the name of the purple nettle until this video, let alone that it was edible! There are so many on my island, along with other edible discoveries, i'm sure! Happy Beltane !! Can't wait to gather and dry my beltane bundle this year. last year's smelt, AMAZING!! when i burned it on Mabon<3 Patience always pays off!

The collecting of a certain amount of flowers is a tradition we have here in Sweden, but we do it when we celebrate Midsummer! I think its 7 different flowers and we put it under our pillow to dream about who will be sour soulmate. I´ve done it once and I just dreamt about flowers x)

I’m doing something similar this year, journaling EVERYTHING that pops up in my garden, drawing them and/or pressing them in the book.

Tomorrow is my fathers birthday. We had no relationship when I was a child and not much now but he does appreciate the natural world. He gave me 200 bucks in March for my birthday and I used it all to buy flowers. Unfortunately tomorrow Ill be spending 6am to 5pm in a dark sad factory. Im just starting my witchcraft journey so next year Ill have better plans.

Loved the video. Your place you live is lovely.

i love your videos! i have germanic heritage but due to family estrangement i’ve grown up completely disconnected from the traditions and rituals my ancestors practiced. it always made me sad until i started developing my own practice and felt connected to the unknown generations that came before me. i’m excited to officially celebrate beltane for the first time this year. thank you for the inspiration!

It’s videos like this that made me become a Patreon member. As a mom of two young kids as well I’m in awe of the fact you’re able to put together such great, knowledgeable, creative content that’s edited well. I have two degrees in art and digital media and run a design studio, I know ALL the effort you’re putting in and I appreciate it. Gut gemacht!
