😖 The WEAKNESS George Russell must fix #f1

George Russell is always the first to point the finger at himself when he makes a mistake in an F1 car. But while that level of honesty is a good thing, it must be backed up by fixing the real problem

At this point Charles and George can join the club of self flagellation.

George is one bad day away from losing to Norris in standings too, already slipped behind Ferraris

Lando hit the wall and got away with it, Russell didnt. The fine line between failure and success in F1.

People need to remember how Verstappen, Senna and even Hamilton in his early were having the occasional costly crash. But once they cut them out they were rocket ships. Now it's time for Russell to do what they have done and cut them out.

If you watched P1’s interview with Sainz, Sainz said that he doesn’t really like to say these things about himself and referenced how Charles does this as well as George. Considering how cool and calm Carlos was in Singapore, I think his mindset to his mistakes need to change

Russell isn't as focused as Max or Vettel because he's South Americ...oh wait

People giving Russell a hard time right now really need to calm down. He drove his heart out and a tiny mistake cost him everything. He still has time to develop, and as we saw with Verstappen, once he cuts out the mistakes he could be a force to reckon with.

Honest mistakes happen, he needs to be able to put them behind himself and not focus on them more than is needed to understand what happened. In this case, he was 2 or 3 centimeters too far to the right. That's all.

That harsh self critisizm is a weakness just like it is for Leclerc. They go too far and put more pressure on themselves this way. You don't see Hamilton, Verstappen or Alonso talk about themselves in such a way. They look in the mirror but can brush it off quickly

Almost every great driver has made mistakes in their first few years. Hamilton spent most of 2012 colliding with Pastor Maldonado, it didn't ruin his career. Vettel definitely made mistakes throughout his career at Ferrari and Red Bull, with various outcomes. Despite all this they achieved a crazy amount of success. George needs to believe in himself more and focus on his strengths not just his weaknesses.

To be honest, he’s not wrong. It was a pathetic mistake, but it should be known it will be the last time he makes that mistake. At least this time the consequences aren’t too severe, it could only cost Mercedes the 2nd place in constructors.

This is his second season in Mercedes and honestly I'm pretty impressed with his performance. I'm sure he can become a world champion some day.

George and LeClerc are a lot alike. Both are good and fast drivers, but both are also prone to race ending mistakes during big pressure moments.

Barcelona qualifying... Spa qualifying... binning it during the last lap while in P3 with his faster teammate on his heels.
Theres more evidence this year of George's shortcomings being left out here too. they are real and need to be dealt with but it's not easy. ego is a difficult thing to manage in this sport.

This is why Lewis is so much better. First of all, he would never do it but if he did, he would say sorry to the team and get ready for the next one. In sports, a short memory is the best asset. You can beat yourself up like George is doing cuz you gain absolutely nothing from it, if anything, it’ll hurt you

Not a fan of Russel but this could have happened to everyone. Close racing with a teammate putting the pressure from behind (Ham was not helping) and a driver making a mistake in front of you (norris hit the wall with his front wheel) it is very hard not to follow up that mistake becasue you try to focus on the guy in front.

That self inflicted crash in the Williams when we was in the front row of the restart was telling of things to come.

Funny that all you need to do for not getting judged by f1 media for your mistakes, is sign with merc...

George knows how to accept a mistake but not how to take the blame after crashing onto someone 💀

Everybody crashes occasionally when they're racing. It happens. Personally, it was one of the best races I've seen in the last few years because of the that 12 laps. To gain close to 11 seconds in 7 laps is stunning.
