How Starcrusher Swarm King boss works and Tips to beat it | Honkai Star Rail 1.6

Free Dr. ratio is bringing new and returning players alike but with that comes a tricky new story and weekly boss. Ruan mei trailblaze story can be easily started before trailblazers step foot in Xianzhou, right after we finish the Belobog arc. Some might be questioning themselves on which unit to prioritize to move forward with story and content.

A lot of players sleep on their cleansers early game. Those who did, suffered when Kafka boss appeared in story, frustrated when Swarm disaster arrived, and worshiped Huohuo when she dropped (as they should).

Don't sleep on your cleansers.

Also, March 7th, Natasha, plus Fire MC/physical mc are free.

Story Kafka and story Swarm boss will need cleansers and there will be no Support from friends mechanic in their story mode.

Phantylia story boss is the only one who have trial character Jing Yuan to help players. TBH they should do that on all story boss ngl (cuz we lazy) XD but I do applaud this since players will be forced to learn by trial-and-error early on since these mechanics will carry on to Simulated Universe, swarm & GG (gold and gears). Future proof players will have no problem in SU when they build the Holy 3 or at least similar to these 3.

This guide will most likely ignore meta and will favor FTP and/or newbie perspective in delivering information.

If you want Meta tip. 90% pull for new drop DPS characters. 10% build tingyun & Pela or just pull Dan Heng imbibitor lunae (biased tip lol)

I don’t think the problem is that this boss is so hard, it’s that it locks progress and there is no solution. I think after a failed attempt once, player should have choice to hire support unit from friend or reduce boss difficulty level to not cause them to be stuck in game. If they want they can even keep rewards locked behind original difficulty and give support/lower difficulty option just for story progression. But the way it is now is just bad design. It’s going to leave a lot of new players stuck or make them rage quit.

With Imbibitor lunae, Jingliu, Lynx, and Gepard I was able to do it 😭. The key really is to NOT HIT IT while in the multiplying state. I tried to brunt force my way through, but ultimately waiting until the stage was over to go for the break and kill was what saved me 💪🏽

I finally beat it with Fire MC, Dr. Ratio, Welt and Natasha. It was a rather comfy fight after knowing the boss mechanics (I didn't bother reading when I first fought it lol)

I FINALLY DEFEATED IT!!

The characters I used were Fire MC [Level 80, LC 70], Natasha, [Level 70, LC 70], March 7th [Level 70, LC 70] and Lynx [Level 60, LC 60]. Make sure you upgrade your relics and traces on these characters in order to have good chance at defeating this boss. It may take 30+ mins, but trust me it will be worth it at the end.

Did it at level 50 with Fire MC, Natasha, March 7 and Dr. Ratio (free from event). Was quite easy. Lot's of shields. Lot's of heals. And Dr. Ratio has lots of high toughness breaking follow up attacks. I think I gave him some gear to improve break effect. I improved trace on Natasha to remove debuffs on her skill which came in handy.
