New River Bridge

The marine industry in South Florida is worried All Aboard Florida's plans to run passenger trains across the New River bridge in Ft. Lauderdale will lead to more and longer bridge closures for river traffic. All Aboard Florida has hired a bridge tend and pledged to coordinate train schedules and use new equipment to close and open the bridge faster.

I’d love to bring my kayak and visit that area. I watch the live feed of that bridge from time to time and think the area is just beautiful!

Here in 2022 this same view from my 38' Jupiter is now just a wall of high rises. You cannot see the Lauderdale blue sky unless you look up. When I fished for Snooks here as a kid there was only grass & trees, the trestle, and The Stranahan House.
