It's very uncomfortable how much the US intervenes with markets when its interests are on the line; even if it was temporarily, it's clear this is a regular strategy used to prevent other countries from rising above with their economies; then was Japan, now it's China's turn with Huawei, ASML bans, etc. At least be more honest and drop the "free market" ideology charade.
Oh, and also very ironic how US semiconductor industries "learned" from their good friends from Japan.. but if certain Asian countries "learn" from west enterprises, we call that "stealing" and "copying". The double standard is mind-blowing.

How about controlling the sales of real estate to foreign investors. Chips is only because they want to control the mining profits and direct them to the US to be able to control it at the same time.
