"I'm Jealous" is a song by Australian rock band Divinyls, released in 1995 as the lead single from their fifth studio album "Underworld". The song enjoyed success in Australia where it made the top twenty, peaking at number fourteen and spending nineteen weeks in the top fifty. In addition, the single was certified gold and ranked in as the sixty-fourth best selling single of 1995.

Due to some software issues in regards to being unable to replace audio on some clips at the moment, I am remastering some clips that I have previously replaced the audio on until I find a solution I am happy with. This performance from the Divinyl's is from the Australian TV Show "Hey Hey It's Saturday" for those that aren't from Australia, and was broadcast on 3rd June 1995. Although I posted this video a couple of years ago, this version is of a much higher quality. To get it I originally had to download it from YouTube in as high a quality as I could get, which is never a good thing due to Youtube's file compression techniques. Using AI software I have taken it from SD to 4K and have sharpened the picture a lot more compared to what it was. I replaced the audio with a lossless Flac track a couple of years ago, so it was a good candidate to use for the short term. I had to add a bit of "flourish" at the start of the video to cut something out from memory.

I like this video more than the official video that came out for it, which is a bit boring as it's black and white. I think "I'm Jealous" is one of their best songs and highlights both Amphlett and McEntee's talents. I can remember arguing with someone a few years back (on another channel) who claimed Amphlett's vocals were live on this performance. They are not, I replaced the audio which exactly matches the original. The song is from their fifth and final studio album, "Underworld". American drummer Charlie Drayton was a session drummer on their fourth album, and by the time "Underworld" came around was a band member, in a relationship with Amphlett and was co-producer (one of 5) of the Underworld album. By the end of 1996, Amphlett and McEntee had a falling out and separated without formally disbanding Divinyls. Amphlett died of cancer in 2013.

In December 2018, McEntee (who was romantically involved with Amphlett from 1982 to 1993) announced he would be reforming the group with new singer Lauren Ruth Ward, ex-Divinyls and Blondie guitarist Frank Infante and a new rhythm section for an Australian tour, to begin in 2019. This plan was immediately publicly rubbished by Drayton who called it disrespectful to Amplett (Drayton must have forgotten that McEntee cofounded the group so can do whatever he wants) and continued his attacks on McEntee until the tour was cancelled. Personally I think it is just sour grapes from Drayton, and McEntee had every right to go ahead with it and think most people would have enjoyed it. Obviously Lauren Ruth ward would be under a lot of pressure, but she had some quality musicians with her, Frank Infante is a brilliant guitarist who played on most of Blondie's most popular albums such as (with hits in brackets) "Parallel Lines" (Heart of Glass, One Way Or Another, Hanging On The Telephone), "Eat To The Beat" (Atomic, Dreaming, Union City Blue) and "Autoamerican (The Tide Is High, Rapture)

I will probably slowly be posting less videos as the year goes on due to having to assist a relative with moving house, and the house needs work before being put up for sale. So the next 6 months or so could be a bit up and down, though I might be able to do some videos and upload them and give them set dates to go public so my channel is still consistently putting something out, but I may not always be around to comment (though I probably will :)) Just stating it in case I go missing for extended periods. As always, make sure you don't share my videos with anyone at all. This policy has been working well, since I brought it out views and subscribers have increased. WOW! I've been waiting 40 years here in the USA to see most of these videos, or at least with acceptable sound quality, these are WAY amazing! PLEASE! More videos from The Saints (and ANY related stuff from Chris and Ed), Mental As Anything, and the Hoodoo Gurus. My circle has been waving the flag of these bands since forever ago! keep 'em I didn't know Chris Bailey had passed away until today... RIP Chris, you were a major influence on many of us here in the states... Like A Grain Of Sand brother... :-(

What an Australian treasure Chrissy was. Not a real Divinyls fan but I really admired her talent. Would have loved to have seen her performance as Judy Garland in the stage play The Boy From Oz. Apparently she was brilliant. Another great job done. Hey Hey It's Saturday was a great show and they showcased many wonderful bands and put a lot of them on the map just as Countdown did in the day. Speaking of Countdown, if you have in your midst any Hush performances that you can do that would be wonderful. If it is not possible no probs, just thought I would ask.
