No wonder so many of Tolkien's most influential characters have dark hair and blue eyes so often, (the Numenorians, Noldor elves, Aragorn, arwen, Luthien, just to name a few. I noticed that when reading the Silmarillion and Lord of the Rings, I figured that he must have had a special admiration for these features, I was right!

And just like Aragorn in LOTR Tolkien was told by his guardian that he had to wait until he had proven himself before he could marry (Aragorn had to become king and Tolkien had to complete his education)
