Educating Young Workers | Ep. 4 When Is Unpaid Work OK?

Young people are some of the most vulnerable members of the workforce. Not having the right knowledge or experience means we're more likely to have our rights exploited in the workplace. We decided to help change that.

Educating Young Workers is a series we created with the good folks over at the Fair Work Ombudsman. They're the government body that exist to help you understand your rights and responsibilities at work. Even though 16% of the workforce is young people, 25% of the calls for help they receive are from young people. We think by sharing the facts we can help others understand their workplace rights and resolve issues.

Episode 4 explores when it is and isn't OK to complete unpaid work, which includes things like volunteering and interning.
