I randomly saw them in Prague nearing the end of last year, and was blown away. My friend and I got to hang out w the girl in the band for a bit afterwards (she gave me free beer from the backstage, too). Their music is spot on, their performance was sublime, and it was more than pleasant to know that they're normal people.

It makes me sad to know that music like this is popular in Europe, all while utter shit sells by the millions over here in the US.

Na ze meermaals live meegemaakt te hebben, moet ik bekennen dat ik ze stiekem het beste vindt in de kleinere zalen. Ze verdienen absoluut alle lof en de status om hele arena's plat te spelen, maar ik vind dat de intimiteit en muzikaliteit van Balthazar het beste tot hun recht komen in een zaaltje met een stuk of honderd man. De herinneringen daaraan staan me nog steeds bij als een paar van de beste live-ervaringen die ik ooit heb gehad.
