Thanks Kurt! I'm a 70-year old beginner, trying not to rush...

Thx Kurt .. This isn't even for "beginners" this is also for people like me that's a seasoned actors but need to remind myself if im getting lazy on my submissions... Keep grinding and hope one day Bruce Willis is gonna make a video saying " This is what it was like working with Kurt Yue" 👍😃

I loved the violin analogy because some of my acting students think they can take one or two acting classes and then will magically get offered the standard rich and famous contract from Netflix or other streaming platforms. Getting an agent is another fallacy that many new actors fall into that I'm glad you covered. As an acting coach - I'm constantly saying AMEN to your words of wisdom!

I’m a Professional Truck driver in my 40’s . I’ve been driving 18 wheelers for 20 years. I want a career change and decided it will be acting. I’m committed to becoming a great actor so Kurt Yue ‘s videos are the first lessons about this industry I’ve came across. Thank you Kurt for these videos ! I Hope to see you on set in the future 😊

I’m so guilty of number 4. I see it as confidence and believing that I can be great, I’m looking at the finish line before I even run the race. I needed to hear that, thank you.

your second point was so useful to me!! no one has ever mentioned this to me & now that you’ve pointed it out, it’s obvious to NOT pretend for a self tape. as usual, thank you for your expertise 🙏

today I went for my 3rd audition, printed photo and resume - my confidence skyrocketed from it by itself. The look on the casting crew faces 😮 2 auditions I was so nervous, today - owned it. It keeps getting better 😍

I was one of those too quick kind of "career-sprinting" People, but I learned that Experience outranks evereything! Now 7 Months into acting, ive signed with my first Agent! But the last Point really motivated me. No rest when youre winning! Failing really is the quickest way to succeed!

I started BG here in Atlanta back in 2020 and began acting classes back in August. I just booked my first role on a feature film. It's low budget but I don't care. It's experience and I'm excited!

That third point was SUPER helpful to know. I haven’t done any auditions yet but I feel like out of nerves I would’ve abruptly ended my scene after my final scene just wanting it to be over with lol so thanks for this tip.

Since you mentioned not 'pretending' to do things on camera I thought I'd share the time I had to do a spit-take while self taping. I found it much harder than originally thought since I had to 1. Avoid hitting the camera with the mouthful of water I'd sipped. 2. Not choke on said mouthful of water 3. Not *laugh* while performing points 1. and 2. And lastly 4. Properly clean up the area after I was done.

Didn't get the gig but did learn how to do a spit-take.

Not sure if I should list that on the 'skills' section of my resume though 😉

You are honestly so inspirational. Whenever I feel like quitting and focusing on a boring 9-5 career, I watch your vids because you speak so kindly and offer such good information for us beginner actors. I cannot imagine myself feeling fulfilled not being on stage or in front of the camera. It’s always so exciting becoming someone else to play a character. You saying be patient is exactly what I need to remind myself of. All good things take time, and that pic was literally so perfect for my visual mind. Why make things harder for myself? Thanks for all the quality vids. Can’t wait to see you on set someday!

This video is SO helpful, thank you Kurt! Looking forward to watching the video you mentioned on getting acting experience. I have a lot of stage experience and enough voiceover gigs to be SAG-AFTRA, but definitely need some more screen time as I prepare to dive back into the LA scene full-time. Hope to see you on set one day too ☺

I recently got started in acting of sorts because of a new job, and learning about the industry has been so fascinating yet so overwhelming. I stumbled across this video and I'm SO glad I did. Your advice grounded me and reassured me to just have fun and see where you can go. Thank you for this!

I appreciate the last two points where you mentioned trying to advance quickly, and agents. I just graduated from college this past weekend and I’ll be taking your advice!
