I have the Austin XL. It needs the PID controller to help temperature fluctuation. The thermometer in the lid can vary from 250-350 without moving the dial on the controller. Also, it is hot in the middle over the firebox, which is great for grilling, but too hot for smoking.

Pitboss pro 1150 pid has been fixed and I believe would win the competition now especially for the price comparison

Because of your reviewing methodologies I haven't seen you talk about recteq pellet smokers in any of your videos. I am looking to buy my first smoker and heard a lot of good things about them. I was wondering if you had any experience with them or thoughts about the product. Thanks in advance!

This review is only 2 weeks old, your data is incorrect for the GMG grill. I'm currently on GMG's website and it states the "Daniel Boone Choice" has 458 square inches of "surface cooking area" (not 432 as you stated). They also state they have a 3 year limited warranty on all of their grills (not 1.7 like stated, who would come up with that number?). Your comparison is flawed. I myself am only looking for information on a new pellet grill. I appreciate it when it's correct.

I have a pit boss 820 Pro. Its ok, but the fact you can only set the temp in 50 degree increments is total BS. I HATE this. Also, the internal thermometer that it uses to regulate the auger and maintain the temp is WAY off. If I want the cook chamber at 225, I have to set the controller desired temp to 300. If I set it to 225, The cook chamber will only get to about 165. Took me an entire season of ruined cooks to figure out what was going on. So pissed about the Pit Boss. Customer service is basically non-existent. I wouldn't buy another Pit Boss. Just my opinion.
