As part of the Fall 2024 Advance RI-CTR Implementation Science Seminar series, Cara C. Lewis, PhD, spoke on “Articulating Implementation Mechanisms to Optimize for Impact, Efficiency, and Equity” on November 12th, 2024.

This talk anchored the audience in a tale of why implementation science, and specifically, the study of implementation strategy mechanisms, is critical for impacting public health, equitably. Key terms were introduced, and examples were provided for how and why articulating causal pathways can aid in design, evaluation, and achievement of implementation outcomes. The presenter ended by reflecting on strategic priorities for advancing implementation science, highlighting active funding opportunities at NHLBI.

About the Speaker:
Cara C. Lewis, is the Deputy Director of the Center for Translation Research and Implementation Science (CTRIS) at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute within the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Lewis has a PhD in clinical psychology with a research focus on advancing pragmatic and rigorous measures and methods for implementation science and practice.
