Missing door jamb rubber is on both because that is how it latches . And thank you so much for making these videos for us to watch. They bring back good childhood memories.

I drove one of these trucks in 1978. All the pete cabovers are notched out there. As others have said it is where the door latches. Look to the left of the pic and you can see the latch on the door. Lines up perfectly. One thing you don't point out that I noticed is the location of the air intake on or near the roof of the truck. In all your examples they are in a different location including some that are not visible at all because they are mounted behind the cab. Some are not roof mounted on that model of Peterbilt. That is something that varied on this model cabover depending on the engine and intake options.

At 4:45 there’s damage to the bottom edge of the cab, pretty centered inbetween wheel & diesel tank. That same dent can still be seen once repainted at 12:53 😉

if you look at the opened door you can see a metal piece (i imagine to lock the door) and this goes exactly into the place where the weather stripe goes. For me it's not a missing piece ... it was there on purpouse.

Generally, the double sleeper cabs were used for OTR trucks which would need much larger fuel tanks than the 2 examples here with small local route tanks. Likely the same truck!

Also not mentioned was the spot lights on boths front and back. Not many pacemakers have the spotlights even the ones with the sleeper as it looks like an option that Goliath had. Goliath was one of the reasons why i love cabeovers.

Goliath was so scary as a kid in the 80s!

Since you guys found both the Kitt semi and trailer in the midwest desert, might I suggest focusing your efforts there? It’s likely all of those vehicles that were previously owned by the movie companies were auctioned off and ended up somewhere relatively close. This is also pretty obvious but I would also suggest looking through the credits of each episode and see if there’s any prop or rental company that comes up mentioned because they may be credited for supplying the vehicles.

Fun Fact: The truck from the show you can buy the truck in GTAV and it's a beast . lol

The truck.from "No Big Thing" is also a sleeper cab. It has a twin size bed behind the seats. Goliath is commonly referred to as a "double bunk" and it has what is basically a queen size bed behind the seats. They also usually have a little bit more cabinet and storage space at the end of the mattress and around the top of the bunk area. If the cab is cut off right behind the entry doors then there is no bunk or sleeper and it.is referred to as a day cab. Also, the small doors low on the sleeper sides are officially known as luggage compartments but referred to by drivers as the side box.

Joe, first. Another great video! Love how the attention to detail you guys have from show to show and scene to scene. Two other things I noticed with the door being open from the still of The Mouth of the Snake is that when the character David is sitting in the drivers seat. You can see gray paint by his left foot at the lower bottom of the door. Also on the dash by the gear shifter you can see all the color matching switches that Garth was operating in the close up shots of him starting up the truck. I love these videos! Being a Knight Rider fan my whole life, I’ve been looking forward to all these behind the scenes pictures and video of one of my favorite shows! Thank you, thank you! Please keep up the fantastic job!👍

Goliath is out there waiting for a chance to mash Kitt again. I'll never forget that impact. I was crushed. 😁

The pictures that you show of Goliath make it clear that it was painted with a latex paint or a primer over wax intended to be later removed with a high pressure washer. There is overspray on the tires and some got past the cab door onto its seal at the bottom.

Think that 'break' in the weather stripping is for the lock on the door - look at that point on the door in that screenshot. Agree that the lorry is probably the same used as Goliath, just don't think that's necessarily proof.

I have never seen an episode of Knight Rider but I found this to be so interesting. I hope the Peterbilt makes its way to you guys someday.

Very interesting. I wonder where that mechanical masher is now. That episode had me in tears when KITT got hit with that thing. And Garthe was a complete madman. The truck in Mouth of The Snake is more than likley Goliath, I think.

That’s a 110” double bunk n to have virtually the same specs as the baby blue implies they’re one n the same or a pair from a fleet. Dual exhaust n air cleaner in cab… pretty rare

Hi after seeing this I noticed that Goliath was also in Dukes of Hazard, Waylon Jennings was driving the rig in an episode.

Great video and history lesson. I seriously think you're on to something. Unfortunately this truck could be scrapped but then again it can be fully restored and working or a show truck. Some truckers really love cabovers. However I would not give up, BJ and the Bear original truck and trailer were found on separate farms in the midwest and south. The 2 were united and completely restored.
