Maplin Weather Station N96FY Receiver Fix

Not many videos on this topic, so helpful, although the replacement you bought is no longer available via your link. My transmitter started doing the same (LED stayed on and not transmitting), but it has been working for 11 years, which is great. Being handy with a soldering iron I decided to check inside the transmitter. I cleaned up the board (a bit dirty from 11 years use) using an old (dry) toothbrush. Some of the joints looked potentially bad/dry, so I carefully re-soldered them. Hey presto! My transmitter is working again. By the way, there has always been a discrepancy between the temperature readings on my weather station (the transmitter over-reads by about 1.1-1.3 deg C), although the relative humidity readings are fairly comparable. If you leave the two sensors next to each other for a few hours you can check if there is a difference. However, you need to appreciate that if there is a difference in temperature readings then this will result in a difference in relative humidity readings too. For the same actual relative humidity, if one sensor reads a higher temperature than the other, then that sensor should show a lower relative humidity. Its a bit complicated to explain why, but you can Google relative humidity for more explanation.

I've got the same one and it's been faultless. Had it 4 years now. Once it's outside it should work fine. Humidity will sort itself out when fixed outside. I think they update every 30 seconds

Hi i changed the batteries they went flat in controller now the alarm goes off every few minutes any advice, i have tried touching the square and then the plus/minus on/off but it comes back on..dont you just love

Got the same station as this, but the LCD broke. Any ideas if you can get a replacement LCD reciever unit? Thanks

Do you know how to change the tempretue because mine is on Fahrenheit not Celsius
