I tried fasting for a few days during ramadan (I’m non-muslim) and it was kinda hard so I did chew a piece of gum because I didn’t know it wasn’t allowed and I drank a lot of water. In terms of time, I also didn’t do it right because I just started when I woke up and then I ended up breaking my fast in the afternoon

Fun fact: you can chew gum if there arent any substances that dissolve and go in the stomach

also, chewing dum on an empty stomach can lead to heart burn as chewing leads to stomach acid developing. Plus, mints dissolve

For those who don't know, even getting drips can break our fast. It's because no food should enter our blood stream. And digestion and absorption although majorly occurs after esophagus, but the food starts getting absorbed and digested in the mouth.

Am an atheist due to the toxic Christians I’m my life, however people that are kind and not controlling/acting better then people make me happy. Even if they have tons of rules to follow because of there religion, they are kind, if anything it shows that they are dedicated to something. :)

If gum is with some substances makes your fast broke, but if it's without any substances and sugar DON'T brake your fast

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Allah the Exalted and Majestic said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting. It is (exclusively) meant for Me and I (alone) will reward it. Fasting is a shield. When any one of you is fasting on a day, he should neither indulge in obscene language, nor raise the voice; or if anyone reviles him or tries to quarrel with him he should say: I am a person fasting. By Him, in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah on the Day of judgment than the fragrance of musk. The one who fasts has two (occasions) of joy, one when he breaks the fast he is glad with the breaking of (the fast) and one when he meets his Lord he is glad with his fast.

I have heard if u found flavorless sugarless gum that doesnt break into pieaces, than its allowed, keep in mind tho just use it if you have Covid-19 to get rid off a dry mouth/throat.

This might be a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway as I'm not Muslim and have no idea: if you accidentally break your fast can you still continue right away if you make it up as soon as Ramadan is over?
