Ukrainian drones attacked the airfield in Yeisk, Russia. Several outbreaks were recorded.
This was reported by the Crimean Wind monitoring group with reference to satellite survey data. Fires are seen in the area of buildings near the eastern end of the runway. They belong to the airfield, but their purpose is unknown. As a result of a night UAV attack in Yeisk, the 726th air defense training center was probably hit. This strike appears to have hit the 726th Air Defense Training Center located west of the main Yeisk airbase, possibly hitting at least 3 targets.
Russian opposition publication ASTRA with reference to local residents said that the city of Yeisk in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation was attacked by drones. ASTRA notes that a military airfield is located in Yeisk. The city also reports a fire after a UAV attack.
Recall, Ukrainian drones damaged 7 Russian aircraft during an 5 April attack on an airbase in Yeisk, Krasnodar Krai. The operation was planned by Ukrainian intelligence.
“Of these damaged aircraft, four were multirole Su-30SM fighters, two were military transport planes, and one was a Be-200 amphibious aircraft,” the source said then. A diesel substation at the airport was also destroyed. Despite Russian air defenses, including Pantsir-S systems and small arms, 5 Ukrainian drones breached the dense defenses and overcame electronic warfare attempts. This 5 April attack was part of a broader Ukrainian drone assault that day, also targeting airbases in Morozovsk and Engels. Ukrainian media reported two Su-25s were destroyed in Yeysk, killing 4 Russian troops. In Engels three Tu-95MS bombers were significantly damaged, with 7 personnel killed. Ukraine attacked Yeisk again.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announces the interception of more than 100 drones. In particular, 70 UAVs were allegedly intercepted over occupied Crimea and the waters of the Black Sea, and another 43 - in the Volgograd region. It is also claimed that six unmanned boats of the Navy of Ukraine were destroyed.
