Explanation of 4 digit by 1 digit number
Example : 6752÷ 9
1. The left-most digit is 6 which is less than 9. So, we can't divide 6 by 9.
Take the next digit also.
2. Divide 67 by 9.
Thus, 9 goes 7 times in 63.
3. Subtract to get
67 - 63 = 4, which is the remainder.
4. Bring down 5 making 45.
9 goes 5 times in 45, i.e. 9 x 5 = 45.
Subtract 45 from 45 to get 45 - 45 = 0, which is the remainder.
5. Bring down 2
We can't divide 2 by 9.
9 goes 0 times in 0, i.e. 9 x 0 = 0.
Subtract to get 2 – 0 = 2, which is the remainder.
Then Quotient = 750
And Remainder = 2
This is required answer.
