'Why does desire desire its own repression?' asks Deleuze in 1933: Segmentarity and Micropolitics. Because freedom and limitation go together, and if limits aren't placed upon desire, it will destroy the object of its own becoming.

You asked what you might discuss next, I suggest Althusser's "Philosophical Conjunction" and consider its reception.

Thank you so much for this video! Its actually the first one about Deleuze and Guattari which I watched, that is short and clear and creative enough to really get the message across. Didactics wise and content wise you did an amazing job ❤ Way better than these 30-45 minutes Videos which have 4 different parts and at the end you dont get nothing out of it 😂

Anti-Oedipus mostly described what schizoanalysis ISN'T, in negative terms relative to the mainstream (at the time), as well as Freud and Lacan. It's true Reich was a source of inspiration and I love that you included once of their indefinite forms of synthesis, but I think given what parts of schizoanalysis you've summarized, explaining how the understanding of desire itself differs for D&G is critical. to say that desire does not lack an object but lacks a proper subject, is not intuitive at all, but it completely changes what one thinks is meant by the "pro-desire" stance of D&G. There are lines in A Thousand Plateaus that advocate for "a new sobriety", and they make little sense if one doesn't clarify the philosophy of desire that was largely a Marxist reaction to Lacan's pessimism regarding desire.

I like Schizoanalysis and this would be the only psychotherapy I would be willing to undergo.

I like their personality Concept which is less like the western "Cogito ergo sum" but more like Buddhist thinking. (Especially the relation between desire and personality in Schizoanalysis sounds very similar to buddhism, to me.)

And I think the Concept of desire also paradoxically grounds Schizoanalysis more in reality than other Things like "Cognitive Therapy".

Don't mean to nitpick, I still liked your video, it's I've bothered to read a number of Guattari's solo writings (something few seem to do) as well as Deleuze's, and (to use D&G jargon) I've found there's a whole bunch of critical molecular differences that have been chopped off into molar simplifications by much of the scholarship surrounding this topic. "Schizoanalysis" as Guattari attempted to actually practice it at the La Borde clinic, is more akin to 2nd order cybernetics than orgone therapy. He more or less asserted that there is no proper psychology that does not intrinsically include a meta-psychology and politics (ie: accounting for how psychological acutally effect psychology and behavior itself), he frequently threw around the term meta-modeling, and to me it's a shame his work (that was informed by actual attempts at application) is not more recognized.

Is this anything like Derrida’s deconstruction? Not that one seeks to take apart an individual from within, but rather perform therapy from within a persons subjectivity. Any help here would be wonderful, as I’ve been trying to better understand this work for a while now.

Read a lot of D’n’G, their thoughts are very bright and forwarding, new and even revolutionary, I’d even recomend reading C’n’S instead of self help books. However, the project of schizoanalysis would not open a new political or social dimension, unfortunately. Also DnG would never want people to treat this project as the ultimate encoding.

I would like to see this in practice. as of right now i'm extremely skeptical of it being anything more than french intellectualism.

Yeah, I play jazz piano, study radical politics and Sufism. The was the music organisms my mind really helps and if I'm able to maintain supportive housing and a job at the local drop in center for the mentally ill, my life is stable enough for me to do my practising. Bach and Foucault were amazing but Capitalism and Schizophrenia is the schize!! My wife is a pro-domme but I'm not into bdsm (or Leather), well maybe a little bit. Mysticism is more my thing but I will be careful to avoid recourse to Authenticity and of course I dodge polemics. Unless it's a polemic between Allah and Yahweh which I'd like to ensnare myself in. Thanks
