I have received many inquiries about slip coefficient.
Here is a link to an interesting article about polished concrete.
We also install Epoxy floors using our own products available on our online epoxy store:
I have wanted to publish a Concrete Polishing video showing every step for years now and I've never had the time on a job site to do it.
Finally we were able to record this video that shows every step and detail required to get a high-quality polished concrete floor.
Polishing a floor properly is very labor intensive and requires quite a few steps.
The existing concrete floor dictates what the floor will look like when it's done. Not all polished concrete looks the same and not every finish will look the same. All concrete grinds differently and all floors take stain differently. I always say concrete is consistently inconsistent.
Therefore you need to have an open mind when deciding on polished concrete as your flooring system.
In order to polish a floor correctly, you need to have many different series of diamonds and a lot of expensive equipment.
The floor was ground to a 1500 grit finish. It involved the following steps:
clean sawcut joints with upcut saw and fill with polyurea joint filler.
40, 80, 150 grit metal bond diamond grinds.
50 grit diamond impregnated pad grind.
100, 200, 400 grit resin bond grinds.
saddle brown stain application.
densifier application.
800 grit diamond impregnated pad grind.
guard application
1,500 grit burnish.
