Hi, I'd like to explain a bit on why this song is so good. He plays the low D in the bass until 1:15. That low note is called a pedaltone and it works really great to add tension and as you can hear it works great for this piece. I'd suggest other musicians to try and apply this technique to their own material. Cheers!
