This is the LaMotte Total Chlorine, pH and ORP Tracer PockeTester. It is a great way to get three of the most common readings in your pool water. It comes with three modules for testing each factor.

This is a great kit to have if you are a pool service professional or a homeowner who likes gadgets.

This is actually three testers in one so it is like purchasing three electronic testers but all in one kit, which is very convenient. So the Total Chlorine TRACER w/ pH & ORP Sensor is a great way to get three important readings at one time.

If there is a drawback to the kit and I think it is just a minor one - the Total Chlorine reading needs the use of a tablet in the sample. If you want a Total Chlorine meter that you can dip into a sample you are looking at upwards of $1,000.00.

So yes, it is not a simple dip and test, but the results are very good. The accuracy is plus or minus 10% which for a chlorine reading is much closer than what you would get by eyeballing a reagent color tester or test strip. For those commercial accounts where Total Chlorine, pH and ORP must be accurate this kit will work great.

When I used to do Commercial accounts in San Bernardino County several years ago the Health Department was just brutal. Arguing results with them was futile and they would systematically close pools and spas based on their simple reagent tests.

Now they too are armed with digital testers so having one at your disposal is important.

For hotels and apartment service I think it would go a long way with the management to show them that you get spot one accurate digital readings so they can rest easy that their pools will remain open all season long.

You can purchase this kit at your local pool supply wholesaler or online:

Again you are paying for three testers in one so the retail price online is $329.00 for this kit.

The kit i very accurate and if it is out of your range you may just want to settle for the ColorQ Pro7 which as you can see from this video is very accurate when I compared the results of this tester.

The ColorQ Pro 7 is a solid test kit and sells for around $140.00

I bought the same ColorQ after hating the LaMotte's kit with all the bottles. I found it to be unreliable and a pain. Have you tried the SafeDip tester? It has worked perfectly for me for years and all I do is buy calibrated PH 7.0 solution to calibrate it. Actual testing is: collect some water in cup, attach to bottom of tester and press start button. Gives me chlorine, PH, Salt, TDS, and ORP.

Has been very reliable for me. That LaMotte tester looks like a pain too.

david do you know if you can purchase the case only. I have been searching online for it, but have had zero luck. I am looking for it since I purchased the orp tracer, without the PH and TC probes, but seems convenient.

seems the tracer is more acurate 7.27 compared to 7.1 more significant figures on the tracer, both products look really good.

Great machine I agree I wish there was a faster way to get these numbers. How much are the pills to get the chlorine test?

Those Tracer pocket testers look exactly like Extech meters except in different colors.
