Who would have thought that letting a failed casino operator run the country into the ground wouldn't exactly make people proud to be Americans?

I travel extensively around the world. America is a laughing stock under Trump.

"America is the best", it was a tale.
The US people do not generally know much about abroad, so it is so easy to tell them what the power wants.

I would disagree. I think people are redefining patriotism. Running around bragging about how We’re Number One while ignoring the well being of your actual countryfolk doesn’t cut it anymore.

Real patriotism is a willingness to challenge the government when it's wrong.

Patriotism should not be equated with being proud of one's country. Being ashamed of shameful acts is an ACT of patriotism.

Here's a piece of advice every American who travels the world will tell you. When people ask you where you're from, tell them Canada.

True patriotism has nothing to do with wearing a silly red hat, or wrapping yourself in the flag. Those are things you can train a mon.key to do. And if it's something you can teach a mon.key to do, it's probably not patriotic at all. True  Patriotism is caring about what happens to one another. The heart of true patriotism is caring about what happens to your fellow American citizen.

There is less and less to be proud of every year. By every significant measure of quality of life, Europe leaves the US in the dust.

This reflects people more critically examining our political and economic system, and finding it falls damn short! These results encourage me!
