I spent the 4th of July at Luckenbach Texas. Cody Jinks and The Tone Deaf Hippies were performing on the outside stage. What an amazing show! Check them out at a live show, if you get the chance! Support Local Music!

Damn! They play the song a little slower than usual, which gives it the weight it deserves, but it still floats because the band members listen to each other so well and balance out. And Cody gives the right mixture of irony and sadness. This one's a keeper for sure.

So many folks have covered this song, and I honestly wasn’t expecting much. But dang when he started singing that first line I was blown away!

Seen him open for Jamey Johnson June 17 in my home town Durant ok.... lets just say crowd was chanting for Cody even when Jamey was on stage. Jamey Johnson is the man and he played with a huge band, multiple drummers horn section etc, but Cody is such the real deal that I don't think its wise to have him as your opener. Jamey did call Cody on stage and the whole place was chanting Cody Cody Cody! it gave you chill bumps was flippin awesome! You go Denton/Ft worth boy! I guarantee ill see more shows. Thank you Mr. Jinks

Just fell down a rabbit hole on U tube called Cody Jinks. I was thinking of the good old days when Nashville was small and the artists who went there were big, Merle, George, Waylon, Loretta, Hank Nashville didn't make them famous, Nashville needed their honesty, their talent and their style. Now Nashville is a large conglomerate that would rather package mediocre talent in a slick package and call it a star than to recognize the real stars like Cody Jinks, Slaid Cleaves and the dozens of other "tell it like it is and sing it from the heart" musicians. It's good to know that real western music isn't dead, it just never left the Nation of Texas!

this was my brother's favorite song and I'm sure if he were alive to hear you do this song such justice he'd be over the moon. i love this song too even if it makes me shed a tear because it makes me think of him. a lot of your songs have that kind of conviction to move someone emotionally
