My mother died a year ago and for some reason, this song came to mind tonight. Mom was a terrible singer and only knew a few of the words, but I can still hear her singing "Dance with me, Henry. Alright, Baby" (completely off-key, of course!)

My mom said when she would put me down for a nap she used to have to call the deejay and have him play this song for me. She said I’d dance thru the whole song in my crib and then I’d lay down and go to sleep. That would’ve been 70 years ago and I came searching for it today to play for her. She’s in the final stages of Alzheimer’s and it has stolen almost everything from her, everything except her love of music. When she first heard it she started tapping her foot and smiled so slightly I almost missed it. It was so precious. 💔🙏👼
