I prefer the Ford but don’t think you can go wrong with any of these trucks today.

Coil suspension not leaf springs
I wish it was little lighter, had 2021 ram 1500 ecodiesel longhorn limited 10th anniversary edition
3 years of driving once did Chicago from north jersey almost made it there one fillup

Forget your bias and loyalty. When you sit in and drive a Ram it’s a different ball game. Interior is Mercedes quality and the ride and feel is second to none.

The new RAM with the Hurricane engine does perform nicely - I drove a 2025 the other day - in the end, I chose a Ford F150 with 3.5 Ecoboost. Why? The Ford products use BOTH Port and Direct Injection - so that the PORT injection washes the back of the intake valves with fuel and effectively keeps the valves from accumulating hardened Carbon deposits - which is a problem with Direct Injection Only engines such as the RAM employs. Over time, Direct Injection only will result in crusty Carbon buildup on the backside of the intake valves, which has been shown over countless car manufacturers to negatively impact performance, fuel economy, and engine idling. Ford takes the extra step and cost of including a dual injection system, with the PORT injection situated above the intake valves, utilized to keep the valves clean and the engine and fuel economy running at optimal performance over the long run.

Ram's Hurricane engine is relatively new to the Chrysler/Jeep/RAM lineup. It has only been out for 2 years utilized in the Jeep Grand and there aren't many of those sold and on the road to give an accurate feel of reliability with any confidence. The version of Hurricane utilized in the RAM trucks is indeed NEW, because it is tuned and some internal parts are different than the Jeep version, and tailored for the RAM. So, in my if you buy a 2025 RAM truck with the Hurricane engine.... you are a guniea pig for this new never a good idea to be a first adopter of a new vehicle period - especially when a new engine/drivetrain are introduced. There are always bugs that take at least 3 model cycles to work out.

As an example: Ford's 3.5 eco boost had timing chain failures and cam phaser failures in it's introductory they didn't redesign a 'fix' for these problems until the 2nd generation of the engine, which was 3 years (if I am not mistaken) after it was first introduced. I wouldn't touch a Gen 1 series 3.5 Ecoboost with a 10 foot pole. However, the timing chains were redesigned, as was the cam phaser, and now those issues have been reportedly remedied, and you rarely see owners of the new Generation Engine reporting issues with it.

For the best ride feeling, the Ram wins it easily, I have to wait and see how reliable the new Hurricane engine will be on the Ram

I’d go for the Ford, most American in my opinion. GM builds some of the Silverados and engines in Mexico. RAM motors are sourced out of Mexico. I think all the F150’s are assembled in the USA. Even all the Rangers are assembled in the USA. So for that Ford gets my money 😎🇺🇸

I was a ford guy for years but they tried to get me into an eco boost and I just couldn't do it. I've had 2 rams since and I love them

Ram has the best update (for an interior, at least), but I think the Chevy would have to be my pick between these three.

I'm looking at these as my next truck. Any chance of getting the towing capabilities when you're giving the payload info? Good videos as always

I have a new RAM on order. I have had three excellent and reliable RAMs with the Hemi, and my 2018 RAM has a 3.0L Turbo Diesel. My new one will have a Bi-turbo 3.0L in-line-six. I wouldn't say I liked the transmission Dial initially but I got used to it quickly, and my wife's Chrysler 300 has the same dial selector. It is out of the way and I have more usable space in/on the console.

If I still wanted a half-ton, I'd sick with Ram. But, since I want to tow something bigger than a utility trailer, I got a Super Duty.

Having a Ram 1500 ‘19, with the hemi V8 driving at the 3000 feet above sea level delivering parts to paint and body shops in the area, would the new ram w/turbos work just as well as higher elevations? plus i sometimes tow a trailer with roughly 6k pounds couple times a week
