When wiring your batteries in parallel something I do that keeps everything balanced is well. First I do the parallel wiring then each terminal of the batteries goes to 1000 amp busbar from that I connect my load.

In parallel battery connection- Voltage same(12v)but more Current(480Ah).
In series battery connection- more Voltage (48v)but Current same(120Ah).

Your parallel diagram is not good practise. The positive lead to load and negative lead to ground should come from opposite sides of the battery bank. This makes sure that the batteries all act together.

440 is correct, because the current is lost due to the wire

Paralell should be the same voltage but series could be any voltage like 24v to 48v just using any battery like 12v bayyery and lipo 24v
