Why not separate the exam out over 2 weeks like a normal country & all universities.

Totally unnecessary stress load on young people. 🤯

This is just an endurance test, doesnt actually help prepare students for the real world, outdated and sorely lacking when compared to other countries

Same with China's Gaokao (高考), we did a lot of exercises and took thousands of exams and gave us our ranking every time. Traditional parents think that this is a turning point as well as the only way to change your fate. Finding a good job is not always easy, a good college degree doesn't mean you can find a good job, you need to use your family background and pull strings to reach out the good position in the company. For someone like me who doesn't have a strong family background, then working hard is essential

Why? What's the point, it doesn't represent how the vast majority of people work in real jobs.

The more you abide by the rules, the less creative you will be. From my experience 😢

No test should have that much importance on someone’s life. Education as in school isn’t everything

Statistically, there would likely be a student who is sick. A fuller or more accurate picture of a student's abilities shouldn't be formed based on just one day

This is ridiculous haha I’m Korean myself and I can tell that those are like top 1~4% students who are usually aiming to go to top medical schools.

Most other Korean high schoolers don’t even spend an hour on studying after school in reality.

Please don’t try to fool the public with some of the exceptional cases as if they are ‘usual’ Korean high schoolers.

Kinda sad considering standardized testing isn’t a surefire way to determine if people are good at certain things.

what could possibly be determined in an 8 hour sitting compared to a 4 hour sitting or at least two separate days of 4 hour testing? some may argue “it’s more efficient to do it all in one day”, but the opposite is true as it affects flights, traffic, etc on a national level.

misleading. it’s simply a test deciding which univ. you’re able to apply for. reported by a reporter who’s never had the exam obviously.

Asian country entrance exams like this are insane. Imagine getting horribly sick when you have to take the exam and your life is justover. And their obsession with one university being better than another when its all the same cirriculum is also fucked.

Idc what anyone says, this is a WASTE OF POTENTIAL. You are extracting literally every inch of energy that these students might have, for literally np reason. No job ever required you ti sit down and do something you are tested on bit by bit like that. It plays such a negative role, no wonder they all look depressed smh.
