Chamath Palihapitiya, a former Facebook executive once in charge of user growth, says he has “tremendous guilt” about the social network he helped build. He's not the only social media executive blowing the whistle. Carter Evans reports.

Quitting Facebook helped me start reading books again.

Something I neglected for years.

It also helped me be more aware of my thoughts; actions and interactions; especially with people.

The main problem with facebook, youtube and the internet in General is Randomness.

The randomness only fuels mindless chatter.
That chatter; zoning out; becoming autonomous alleviates boredom; like how most wander off while brushing their teeth, walking or eating.
There lies the problem.
Letting yourself wander of and not being present while doing the thing you are doing.
Like a zombie on auto pilot.
Can you even remember what you were thinking about ?

I believe the solution is being mindful of any task no matter how mundane or repetitious it is. And not stacking one thing over another (like exercising with music)

Our Minds were not designed to multitask the way most people think.
