"DALL·E 2 is a new AI system that can create realistic images and art from a description in natural language."

DALL-E is an artificial intelligence program that creates images from textual descriptions, revealed by OpenAI on January 5, 2021. It uses a 12-billion parameter training version of the GPT-3 transformer model to interpret the natural language inputs and generate corresponding images.

When given a textual description of an object, DALL-E attempts to generate a corresponding image. For example, when given the text "a blue and white bird", it generated a picture of a blue and white bird. If multiple objects are described, it will generate a collage of the different objects.

DALL-E is named after the Pixar character Wall-E, who is known for collecting and sorting trash.
