This is different from any experiments I've seen with skittles before! Thanks for sharing--I learned a new word, never knew what chromatography meant before.

Great video! I love the list of materials at the beginning and how you used items the kids would find interesting.

With the little ones, I put the skittles in a shallow amount of milk. I haven't tried the black marker but it's very cool to see the colours separate. Have a blessed weekend, sweet friend!

Yes! I remember doing this as a kid. Always a fun way to learn about how colors are made. I've seen some art teachers use this experiment to learn about primary & secondary colors. Great video!

Oh my word! I don't know if I would be able to make it through this experiment! Hahahhaa! Skittles are my absolute favorite!!!😂😂😂 This was so so fun Michelle! Another great video! You always teach me so much!! Now I want to try this with all different types of markers!! This would be so cool Michelle for those who have dye allergies..they could see what items have that particular dye it in!

This is so interesting! Do you discover these types of experiments through trial and error or have you collected resources over the years?

Very informational. I wonder how that would work with coloring in food. I thought about how although the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) makes sure that all food additives, including dyes, are safe to eat, there are still some people who are more sensitive to dyes than others. And even though food dye allergies are pretty rare, they still can occur. With that being said, testing some types of foods, like candies, would be helpful to see what's really in them, especially if it's a child with the allergies. Does this make sense? Great video and presentation as usually. A++++
