Expressive Landscape Photography - How to find your Creativity (Secret Sauce?)

Ok, so the title is supposed to be a joke, but in truth more people are looking for the secret of their creativity than just about anything else in landscape photography. Techniques can be learned, locations can be researched, images can be copied. BUT, when it comes to actually being creative; finding something new, experimenting, discovering and feeling good about it? That's a whole different story.

In this video I look into my own creativity, find some really Cool images and have an absolute blast in the landscape.

I really love this video. It's the type of scenes that always grab me as well and I'm also usually feeling like I'm not creative. I see images done by others and think, "I could have done that. Why didn't I?" But I guess I needed to hear that finding images in places that aren't obvious (like a waterfall) is also being creative. Thank you! And especially thank you for sharing these images - they're fantastic.

Great insight, as always. I’m heading out this afternoon to photograph a very different landscape, Southern California’s Anza Borrego desert, and will work at opening up to the possibilities there, just as you did.
