Are mist filters worth it? I think the effect is better with a filter but it's more flexible in post

Are mist filters worth it?
While you can get a pretty similar effect in an editing program like DaVinci Resolve, I generally prefer to do as much as possible in-camera. It usually looks more natural and it's easier because it's baked in to the footage.
That being said, since it is baked in, there's not much you can do about it if you for some reason don't want the effect anymore or for specific shots, so once you make a decision to use it, there's no going back.
You also have more flexibility in post, not only with the option to add effects like this or not, but also how strong you want them and even some other characteristics.
I broke all this down in a bit more depth in my latest video on the long form video app, but also feel free to let me know you thoughts there or in the comments here.

i think it depends on if you have the money to buy one or not, if you cant buy it, editing it on is also a good option :)

Although I can tell the difference, i think if I didn't see them side by side I wouldn't have noticed it

Theres a difference, but I still don’t think it’s worth it. Like, they’re different, but neither is worse than the other. If the lense is your desired look, then go for that one.
