Thompson and Wise began dating soon after she announced her divorce from Branagh after six years of marriage amid suspicions that he had an affair with Helena Bonham Carter, and the pair quickly recognized they were meant to be.

The Oscar-winning actor tied the knot to Greg at a lovely ceremony in a converted barn in Argyll, Scotland in July 2003. Their daughter Gaia, then three years old, was an exquisite flower girl on their big day. They had been together for eight years before tying the marriage.
