All these years later and it still makes me laugh that the Simpsons didn't exaggerate his singing voice even a little.

Fun fact: this single was No. 1 in the UK in 1970, keeping the Beatles’ “Let It Be” from the top spot.

Lee Marvin, decorated ww2 soldier, great actor, even gave singing a go, it's probably true to say, they don't make em like Lee Marvin anymore.

I was born under a wandrin' star
I was born under a wandrin' star
Wheels are made for rollin'
Mules are made to pack
I've never seen a sight that didn't look better looking back
I was born under a wandrin' star
Mud can make you prisoner, and the plains can bake you dry
Snow can burn your eyes, but only people make you cry
Home is made for comin' from, for dreams of goin' to
Which with any luck will never come true
I was born under a wandrin' star
I was born under a wandrin' star
Do I know where hell is?
Hell is in hello
Heaven is goodbye for ever, it's time for me to go
I was born under a wandrin' star
A wandrin' wandrin' star
When I get to heaven tie me to a tree
Or I'll begin to roam, and soon you know where I will be
I was born under a wandrin' star
A wandrin' wandrin' star

"Paint Your Wagon"'s director Josh Logan said later that Lee Marvin's behavior on the set -- fueled by heavy drinking -- made this film the most trying of his career. "Not since Attila the Hun swept out of Asia, bringing 500 years of total darkness, has there been a man like Lee Marvin."

❤😊❤My all time favorite movie and song. My dead husband Casey use to sing this whole song to me. I miss Casey and him singing Lee Marvin's song. Me and my husband were true Wondering Stars, I am now a lonely Wondering Star while my husband Casey is at the tree waiting for me.... 😢
