It seems, if no imprisonment time has been mentioned in failure to deposit fine, one has to suffer more in jail.. when 1/4th of maximum imprisonment as prescribed is greater than 1/4th of actual sentenced period..

Please clarify in sec. 64 that when the offender is punishable with both fine and rigrous imprisonment and in case the person by defaltu fails to pay the fine, the person need to go for simple imprisonment or for rigrous imprisonment?

can there be fine without imprisonment, because as per sec 64, it says that in every case of offence punishable with imprisonment as well as fine, in which offender is sentenced to fine, whether with or without imprisonment? please answer
