Travellers’ Times travelled to the West Midlands to spend some time with Asa Wilson, founder of Romany Custom Catapults. Speaking from his workshop, TT gets the inside track about setting up RCC, becoming one of the best catapult makers in the world and the UK catapult scene in general.

Gotta get me one of them cattys! My Dad started me on them at 7, having a deek for the perfect hazel Y in the hedges.

I use to make them with black square rubber and wooden handles which I would usually find in a willow tree and I'd put leather straps on top then bind the rubber with elastic bands.
