Crockpot Chicken & Gravy

1-2 lb chicken breasts, trimmed (2-3 chicken breasts depending on size)
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 packets chicken gravy mix
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cups water

Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours, break chicken apart and serve with sides of your choice. I served this with mashed potatoes and butternut squash.
I recommend cooking on LOW for 6-8 hours but this can be cooked on HIGH for 4-5 hours.

Potatoes:
5 russet potatoes
1/2 stick unsalted butter
1/2 tsp garlic powder
generous pinch of kosher salt
pinch black pepper
1/4 - 1/3 cup heavy cream or milk

Butternut Squash:
1 large butternut squash
3 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tbsp sugar
kosher salt
cinnamon

Jenn this smelled AMAZING cooking. I used Bell's Seasoning for my poultry seasoning, and about 6 decent size chicken thighs (prefer it to breasts) but used all the other same ingredients you did. I wanted to see how it would turn out made in the pressure cooker so I made this in my Crock Pot Express Cooker (or Instant Pot if you have that one instead). I did mine for 25 minutes on high pressure, it came out amazing! Thanks for sharing.♥

I am 71 years young and believe me, I have cooked mashed potatoes many, many times. I have found that boiling the potatoes cooks away a lot of the flavor and the potatoes themselves....try this. I take my double boiler that has a steamer basket that I put the potatoes in (they stay out of the water, so they do not "boil" away. All the flavor stays intact.), when they are tender, dump potatoes into a bowl or the bottom part of the double boiler (after pouring the water out of course}, then add your butter, milk and seasonings and mash as you would with your mixer. I use lots of butter because my family loved the creamy texture (I also use real butter, not margarine). Hope you will give this a try....enjoyed your video. Happy cooking.

I'm a single dad and remember the days my son would read to me while I cooked. How nice to include in your video. Great recipe too. 👍

At my grandmother's years and years ago it was my " job" to put the moon and stars on the top of a hot bowl of mashed potatoes. The moon was butter melting in a puddle and a sprinkle of pepper for the stars. I have continued the fun with my grandchildren. ♥️

These memories you make with your son are precious and he will always remember. My son is 44 now and still talks about these special times as a little boy. Trust me!!!

Also if u add some other veggies like peas carrots green beans corn celery etc you end up with the filling for ckn pot pie.. Serve. Over biscuits or rice or egg noodles or put in a pie crust ..so many awesome ways to use it and great way to use leftovers too!!

I've made this recipe a few times. I modified it some, I cut the garlic powder to 1/2 tsp, added some chopped celery and onions and when the chicken was almost done I added a can of peas and carrots. After a few minutes I shredded the chicken and put it back in and set the cooker on high, I mixed up an envelope of bisquick buttermilk biscuit mix and added it by soup spoons once the pot came up to a simmer. I let it cook till the dumplings were done about 15 minutes, turns out great.

Hooray for the Crock Pot. I used it a LOT to feed my 2 hungry sons. Now, I use it to feed my 90-year-old Mom. I have quite a few favorite Crock Pot recipes from years of experience. Mom loves them, and so do my adult sons. I will definitely try your recipe.

I cook my potatoes in chicken broth when making mash potatoes. Makes them taste delightful. I drain potatoes as usual.

Save, wash, and roast those seeds. I do mine with butter, garlic, and onion powder and sometimes dill weed. Nice snack and perfectly freezable until you have enough for everyone.

I love your voice. It’s just as comforting as the food that you made.

Your chicken would be great over cornbread casserole or stuffing. Proud to see a mother and wife.

Ahhh, The Bears!!! My daughter, who is now 36, loved these books. In fact, I had to buy a second copy of the Too Much Junk Food rendition! She had every single one that was published and carried one under her arm wherever she went. Such a great memory! Thanks for the recipe. I'm thawing the chicken breasts today and will make this tomorrow.
