Wonderful to hear Mr Haymes late in his career. He was 68 years old here and had a lot of life behind him, yet still has a wonderful way with a song.

I never watched too much of the telethons back then. But its nice to hear Dick Hames. I have his movie State Fair. His voice in his younger years were better. But way superior to what the average "singer" sounds like like today.

I can't believe some of these misplaced comments about one of the great vocalists of the 40's and 50's. Agree, his voice had changed due to a previous illness but he still had plenty here, certainly not ordinary. Another factor was the microphone he was using pinching off some of his vocal range and sound. Sinatra was my favorite but look how his voice changed as he grew older. But both he and Haymes never lost their touch and they always knew what they were doing.

Sinatra was good until he started imitating himself. but his bobby soxer. days were really worth listening to
