I'll admit that even though the RAM is soldered on, the M.2 is very easy to get to and upgrade, and the battery is definitely easily swappable. All that with an OLED screen and a 12th gen i5 with two Thunderbolt 4 ports.... I'll really kinda take that over a MBA. Very much. I'm running this with the 8TB Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus. It's fantastic. 8TB is so nice to just be able to have at my disposal at PCIe Gen4 speeds.

Pls help i have the 15 1240p / 8gb ram out of box version

Question is, I can add another 8gb ram or 16gb ram appart from the original one ?
Or I need to replace the original one instead of adding another one ?

what a shame they've went with soldered RAM, 16GB just doesn't work for me anymore, otherwise they seem like such a cool laptops

Would the Crucial T500 ssd be a good upgrade for this machine? Just wondering how noticeable it may be

Would the Crucial T500 ssd be a good upgrade for this laptop?

And is it worth re-doing thermal paste on the cpu?

Thanks

This new trend of soldering everything into the laptop itself just means they're making our buying decisions easier for us. I sure won't be buying these new junk laptops, and anyone who does probably isn't too smart.

Anyway, good and thorough review, thanks!

hello, it says max supported ram is 16g. But if I understand correctly it is 8gb on the version with i5 and 16gb on the version with i7 right?

When I read disassembly, I expected it would include removing the motherboard, keyboard, the whole shebang. Removing the lid does not disassembly make.
