NEW FTR 1200 TIRES!! (Avon Cobra Chrome)

Biggest problem with the stock tires is the profile.
If you get " all the tire " in a corner, you run off the tread at 41 deg. lean angle.
I fitted 17 inch BST wheels ( adapted from another bike ) back in July 2019,
just a month after getting the bike.. Now have Bridgestone RS 10 R tires.
Have 50+ deg lean angle, now.

I have the Cobra Chromes on my Golwing 1800, they are suppossed to be made for heavy bikes.

Sooo! Googled Avon Cobra tyres, hadn't heard of them, BECAUSE THEY'RE A CRUISER TYRE!!! I bet your track day was, interesting 😂🤣🤣😅😂. Pirelli or Continental seem to be the way forward if you want a 160 rear in ftr sizes, I'm finding the standard Dunlop to be okay running in, haven't used them in the wet yet 😬

Nice score on those tires. Yes, today I downshifted into third on a corner and I lost some grip. These tires suuuuck on the FTR. They also create a vibration in the seat. So do you think they lowered the bike at all?

How do they handle in the wet? Have you tried that yet?

It’s ok if you don’t mind having radial to bias tyres incorrectly fitted as Avon cobras don’t come in the correct configuration as confirmed by Avons tech team when asked them. Bias front with radial rear is ok but not radial front with bias rear which is what you have gone for as chromes only come that way.

Those aren't advertised as a sport/track bike tire, why didn't you get something stickier for that type of riding?
